Entschädigungsfonds für Eigentümer muss folgen

Der Eigentümerverband Haus & Grund Deutschland begrüßt, dass die Bundesregierung Handwerker vor den Gefahren, die von dem Baustoff Asbest ausgehen, besser schützen möchte. „Die geplanten Informationspflichten für Eigentümer sind maßvoll und weit weniger aufwändig als ursprünglich geplant. Dennoch bleibt für die Eigentümer eine hohe Kostenbelastung, wenn in einem älteren Gebäude asbesthaltige Stoffe fachgerecht entsorgt werden müssen. Deshalb muss ein von der Baustoffindustrie finanzierter Fonds aufgelegt werden, aus dem betroffene Eigentümer unterstützt werden können“, kommentierte Haus & Grund-Präsident Kai Warnecke den heutigen Kabinettsbeschluss.

Die Änderung der Gefahrstoffverordnung sieht vor, dass Hauseigentümer beauftragte Handwerksunternehmen über das Baujahr des Hauses schriftlich oder elektronisch informieren müssen. Bei Arbeiten an Häusern mit Baujahr zwischen 1993 und 1996 muss das Datum des Baubeginns angegeben werden, sofern dieses bekannt ist. Ansonsten ist das Baujahr ausreichend. Da das Verbauen asbesthaltiger Stoffe seit 31. Oktober 1993 verboten wurde, können Handwerker mit diesen Informationen das Risiko besser einschätzen und entsprechende Schutzmaßnahmen vornehmen.
